Window functions (ROW_NUMBER, RANK, LAG, SUM() OVER (...)) compute values across a set of rows related to the current row, defined by OVER (PARTITION BY ... ORDER BY ...) — without collapsing rows like GROUP BY. Great for running totals, rankings, and deduplication.
