Vercel offers zero-config hosting with built-in CDN, ISR, and edge functions. Self-hosting runs next start on a Node server or a Docker container (often output: 'standalone'); you then provide your own CDN, image optimizer, and revalidation infra. Static exports work for purely static sites.
