Q: How do you sort with a custom key, and how does sorted differ from sort?

Pass `key=` a function returning the sort value: `sorted(items, key=lambda x: x.age)`. **`list.sort()`** sorts in place and returns `None`; **`sorted(iterable)`** returns a new sorted list and works on any iterable. Both are stable.
